IFC Films Picks up Soderberghs Che Guevara Epic

IFC Films has picked up the distribution rights to both “The Argentine” and “Guerilla”, the two-part upcoming Steven Soderbergh films starring Benicio Del Toro about the life of Ernesto “Che” Guevara. In January, the Independent Film Channel will be releasing the both of the movies in theaters as well as through IFC In Theaters, the channel’s video-on-demand service. The films will also be distributed through and exclusive deal between IFC and Blockbuster Video. The two films, collectively referred to as “Che” during a single four-hour screening this past May at the Cannes Film Festival, will be covering Guevara’s life from the beginnings of the Cuban Revolution in 1953, to the overthrow of the Cuban dictator Fulgencio Batista [...]
