The Game In Talks To Play B.A. Baracus in The
A-Team

When John Singleton was developing an A-Team movie, he was talking to Ice Cube about playing B.A. Baracus. A year and a half later, Joe Carnahan has since been brought on board to get the project started, and BlackFilm is reporting that a new rapper has now become the front-runner for the mo-hawked soldier of fortune role originally played by Mr. T in the television series. The Game. The 29-year-old Grammy nominated rapper made his big screen debut in the not-well-received 2006 action-drama Waist Deep. He later had a small role in Street Kings.The announced cast includes Liam Neeson as John "Hannibal" Smith and Bradley Cooper as Lt. Templeton "Faceman" Pack. For some reason I'm really not interested in an A-Team movie, which probably stems from my dislike for the series as a child. Also, I just think the show only worked in Regan-era (let's not get political...) But ...

Universal To Make Asteroids Movie

When movie studios are developing big budget big screen movies based on Stretch Armstrong and Candyland, I knew it was only a matter of time before Hollywood started to mine some of the classic video games of the children of the 70's/80's. Universal has won a four-studio bidding war to win the film rights to the classic Atari video game Asteroids. Newcomer Matthew Lopez, who came out of Disney's writing program and did work on Bedtime Stories, The Sorcerer's Apprentice and Race to Witch Mountain, has been hired to write the screen adaptation.For those of you who don't remember, the game involved the player controlling a triangular space ship in an asteroid field, shooting and destroying rock and the occasional alien spaceship to avoid collision. Comics2Film is reporting that Kickstart Entertainment has optioned “Proof” from Image Comics, as an animated television series. The site is also reporting that Samuel L. Jackson is attached to the project.The comic book was created by Alex Grecian and Riley Rossmo and focuses on operatives of the mysterious organization known as The Lodge, led in the field by John “Proof” Prufrock, a sasquatch. Universals Creature of the Black Lagoon a Hit

The all new Universal Studios attraction “The Creature from the Black Lagoon-A Raging Rockin’ Show” was a surprisingly good show. I expected a kid friendly comedy show but was happily disappointed. It had a lot of fun stuff for kids but it also had some “undercover” humor for the adults. The singing (it is a musical) was exceptional, the costumes were great, and the set design was awesome. It was a very funny script with some amazing swimming scenes and a great surprise at the end.
