It’s been a long time coming for Steve Guttenberg, or “The Gutt” to his friends. Not surprisingly, Guttenberg is currently in New York working on his next movie. Alright, so that might be surprising. We haven’t seen anything Guttenbergian of note since the stellar 1997 family aquatics comedy Zeus and Roxanne.
But that is about to change. According to WENN, who interviewed Guttenberg on the set of his next film, Disney is developing another sequel to the 80s hit Three Men and a Baby. He also revealed that it will follow the sequel Three Men and a Little Lady by finding the three guys — played by Guttenberg, Tom Selleck and Ted Danson — giving away baby Mary on her wedding day in Three Men and a Bride. Think Fathers of the Bride.
After dropping this little bomb, Guttenberg also reached back and talked about bringing back both Police Academy and Cocoon, the other two things for which he is well known (Short Circuit is already being remade). His reasoning: ?They?re surefire hits and I think they?re good for the world. They make the world a better place and that?s what it?s all about.?
Either Steve Guttenberg has officially lost it, or we’re about to get a crazy ‘I Love the Eighties’ inundation that will lead us all to drink. Either way, it’s a party.

Add to myYahoo!Alexa from Pop Elegantiarum here. Like a lot of women, I have a love-hate relationship with Barbie. In her current incarnation, she is a stripper image of femininity that, in addition to being a bad role model for girls, is just, well, tasteless. But then I'll see a retro Barbie from the 60s and I flip for her exaggerated glamour. In the spirit of the latter, I wanted to share these repainted dolls by Noel Cruz. Noel takes your average fashion doll, like Barbie, removes the factory paint, and repaints the features. After a wardrobe change, the dolls are reborn as some favorite film characters, like this Miranda Priestly doll. Love the wardrobe, and how he managed to capture the essence of Meryl Streep's features (albeit in a streamlined Barbie way).
And he has a slew of actressy dolls too, like this dreamy Nicole Kidman. I could bore my daughter to tears with this one, acting out scenes from Cold Mountain all day.
Noel has loads of other characters and celebrities he's created, all one of a kind. Some are better than others, but all inspire loads more imagination than those fashionista Barbies out there, no?

Add to myYahoo! While covering the American Film Market, Bloody Disgusting discovered the names of the three main cast members for director Oren Peli's Area 51, the filmmaker's follow-up to the indie supernatural thriller viral sensation Paranormal Activity. Peli is not going Hollywood yet, and keeping it low-key, with three virtually unknown actors - Reid Warner, Darrin Bragg and Ben Rovne. Aside from Warner's one-episode small guest spots on The Unit and Eli Stone, the trio have been virtually unseen in both movies and television. It seems to me to be a smart move on many levels. First of all it allows Peli to keep the costs low -- the estimated budget is around $5 million, which will probably go mostly toward effects. Second of all, not using any established or known actors allows Peli to play with the audience's perceptions of real/cinema, as he did with Activity.Peli began shooting Area 51, another found-video thriller which is described ...

Add to myYahoo!Warner Bros has released a thrid movie trailer for Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes on MTV. The trailer is again the odd mix of stylistic action and slapstick-approaching comedy. This trailer definitely has more action packed between faster cuts and loud music, probably an attempt to appeal to the younger MTV demographic. The film looks like Ritchie's most accessible film to date. Watch the trailer embedded after the jump.In a dynamic new portrayal of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle?s most famous characters, ?Sherlock Holmes? sends Holmes and his stalwart partner Watson on their latest challenge. Revealing fighting skills as lethal as his legendary intellect, Holmes will battle as never before to bring down a new nemesis and unravel a deadly plot that could destroy the country.Watch the trailer in High Definiton on MTV.
