Joan Rivers Ejected From British Talk Show After
Calling Russell Crowe A 'F*ing St': With Video! [Joan Uncensored]

It's getting so that there are fewer and fewer places where Joan Rivers can peddle her celebrity-terrorizing wares lately—having been banished from virtually every red carpet in town, but the 75-year-old post-Vaudeville warhorse shows few signs of slowing down. Case in point, plugging the West End debut of her one-woman show, she stopped by British talk show Loose Women today, who then took the extreme measure of ejecting Rivers from their studio after she let fly a two-megaton F&S Bomb in describing Russell Crowe. Rivers later explained how she mistakenly thought the world in which she moves is on permanent seven-second delay:

"I thought there was a seven-second delay," Rivers told MediaGuardian.co.uk. "They earlier showed a picture of a man with an obvious erection under his coat so I thought it would be all right."

"I have won an Emmy, been nominated for a Tony award, done every show and become an icon and when people ask me what is left in my career I have always said I don't know, but I have never been forcibly thrown out of a TV studio. It is another milestone," she added.

However, Rivers said she would still appear on the show again. "In a second. But they didn't give me my goody bag, which I am very upset about," she added.

The full, uncensored outburst is above. (We also enjoyed the nervous denouement, particularly when one co-host awkwardly attempts to move things along to the next topic.) And while Rivers expressed incredulity that the comments elicited hundreds of angry complaints from viewers, when she was shown one e-mail from a mother-of-three from Leeds who was "gob-smacked when that gormless woofter Rivers whinged with 'er grotty loo-mouth on me telly!" she realized just how easily offended they can be on the other side of the pond.

Hulk Smashes Jim Carrey's Salary As Hollywood

The recession is hurting the wealthy. It was bad enough when socialites started buying used gowns and Beverly Hills real estate agents began skipping botox. Now movie stars are feeling the pinch.

With superhero movies toplined by B+listers raking in the bucks, A-listers can no longer demand a huge share of the profits on top of their eight-figure quotes. As Variety helpfully explains,

it?s a shift to ?cash break deals,? from the once-common practice of giving top talent as much as 20% of the first-dollar gross. In other words, star actors ? as well as big-name writers and directors ? are being forced to wait until a movie recoups its costs, rather than enjoy a portion of the first dollar that a project takes in.

This sounds so logical that it's hard to imagine why the studios would ever have agreed to first-dollar gross. The explanation lies in Hollywood's often creative accounting that manages to make huge hit films like Forrest Gump seem like loss leaders. Ask the vast majority of extremely bitter screenwriters, who have never gotten a share of the gross, how a piece of the net profits worked for them.

Still, it's hard to feel much sympathy for people who make millions per film — unless you're one of the people who gets a cut of their earnings. Quoth an agent,

?The world has become all about now. The result of your last movie determines all of your leverage. Past quotes are only being used by studios as a mark to cut from.

A salary based on performance. The horror!

But it's not like your favorite stars are questioning whether they can afford a second topping at Pinkberry. Except for Jim Carrey. In order to get the upcoming Yes Man made, the one-man bomb factory

"waived his $25 million fee, and agreed to a gross payday to be collected when the film recoups its costs."

In an era of shrinking paychecks and rising gas prices, it's good to know that Carrey is willing to sacrifice in order to make a movie that nobody wants to see.
